# QUICK SPARK: SK Hynix on Pace for Worst Month Since June 2002

**SK hynix Inc.** (NASDAQ:SKHY) just posted the most profitable quarter in its history. The stock is having its worst month in 24 years.

July’s decline stands at 47%, the steepest since June 2002.

Second-quarter operating profit hit 60.54 trillion won ($41.9 billion) on a 76% margin, more than the company earned in all of 2025. 

It still missed analyst estimates. 

The **iShares MSCI South Korea ETF** (NYSE:EWY) closed Tuesday 31% below its 52-week high.
