# L'Oreal Sales, Earnings Rise With Growth Across Divisions

France's L'Oreal said its sales and earnings rose in the first half after growth across divisions. 

The hair care and cosmetics company on Wednesday reported sales of 23.77 billion euros ($27.07 billion) for the six-month period, up 5.8% on year on a reported basis, and up 6.8% on a like-for-like basis. Analysts had forecast sales of 23.6 billion euros for the first half, according to consensus estimates by Visible Alpha. 

Net profit after non-controlling interests was 3.55 billion euros, up from 3.37 billion euros. Operating profit in the period was 5.06 billion euros, up from 4.74 billion euros, L'Oreal said. 

Going into the second half, L'Oreal said it was confident of continuing to outperform the overall market.
