# MSFT Earnings: Microsoft Stock Jumps after Topping Q4 Estimates

Shares of Microsoft (MSFT) jumped in after-hours trading after the tech company reported its Q4 results. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $4.74, which beat analysts' consensus estimate of $4.24 per share. In addition, sales came in at $90 billion, a 17.8% increase, which also beat analysts' expectations of $87.62 billion.

At the same time, Microsoft Cloud sales hit $59.3 billion for the period, as the segment continues to consistently grow each quarter, as pictured below. Breaking down the numbers further, Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud division, which includes Azure, generated $39.3 billion, compared with estimates of $38.1 billion. Meanwhile, Microsoft's Productivity and Business Processes segment delivered $37.8 billion in revenue, beating Wall Street expectations of $37.1 billion.
