NVIDIA partner ChipAgents expands financing scale, accelerating chip development with AI
Complete. Here is the key summaryChip design startup ChipAgents announced an expansion of its Series A funding by $60 million, bringing the total to $131 million. The company plans to leverage AI agents to accelerate semiconductor design, particularly to enhance chip verification efficiency. At the same time, ChipAgents will deepen its collaboration with NVIDIA to jointly develop dedicated AI models for chip design. This round of funding was led by B Capital, with previous investors including Micron Tech, MediaTek, and Ericsson
The CEO of chip design startup ChipAgents stated that the company has expanded its Series A funding to $60 million to further support its plans to accelerate semiconductor design using AI agents.
The software developed by ChipAgents utilizes so-called AI agents—programs capable of making autonomous decisions and executing complex tasks with minimal human supervision—to improve chip design efficiency and drive process automation. Using traditional tools and methods, the chip design process can cost hundreds of millions of dollars and take years to complete.
William Wang, CEO of ChipAgents, stated in a media interview that the greatest efficiency gains from the company's software are seen in the chip verification phase, which helps confirm whether the chip operates as intended. "A large part of this work is actually ensuring there are no vulnerabilities," he said.
ChipAgents announced this week that it will expand its strategic partnership with NVIDIA, with both parties collaborating to develop a dedicated AI model focused on chip design.
Wang declined to disclose whether NVIDIA is an investor in the company.
This additional funding round was led by B Capital, bringing ChipAgents' total Series A funding to $131 million. Previous investors include Micron Technology, MediaTek, and Ericsson
