# Magnolia Oil & Gas to Acquire WildFire Energy

After months of negotiation, Magnolia Oil & Gas announced on July 20th, 2026, that it was acquiring privately held WildFire Energy for $4.06 billion. The deal adds 810,000 acres in the Giddings field of South Texas, more than doubling Magnolia’s acreage to roughly 1.25 million net acres and lifting combined production to approximately 159,000 boe/d.
