# Memory Chips Slide in Night Session: Micron Down Nearly 6%, SanDisk Nearly 5%

During the US night session on July 31, the memory chip sector faced broad selling pressure, with mainstream names closing lower across the board. As of press time, sector leader Micron Technology (MU.US) fell nearly 6% to $823.03, having dipped as low as $818.00 during the session. SanDisk (SNDK.US) dropped nearly 5% to $1,214.83, exhibiting high intraday volatility with a low of $1,187.26.

Hard drive and storage equipment manufacturers weakened in sync. Western Digital (WDC.US) fell 1.05% in night trading to $544.84, while Seagate Technology (STX.US) declined 0.94% to $856.13. Among small-cap names, Everspin Technologies (MRAM.US) slipped 1.38% to $14.53. Sector sentiment turned noticeably cold during the night session, with significant signs of capital outflow.

On the derivative ETF and leveraged product front, related instruments followed the underlying stocks lower. The Mu 2x Long ETF (MUU.US) fell 1.78% in night trading to $23.67, while the Mu 2x Short ETF (MUD.US) bucked the trend with a 0.65% gain to $12.37. The SanDisk 2x Long ETF (SNXX.US) and SanDisk 2x Short ETF (SNDQ.US) recorded a 0.64% decline and a 0.70% gain, respectively, indicating growing market divergence on the sector's near-term outlook.
