The two parties will jointly build a zero-carbon energy system for green shipping and the canal economic belt, with the aim of creating a world-class smart zero-carbon canal benchmark. The Pinglu Canal spans 134.2 kilometers and is the first large-scale canal connecting rivers and seas since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It will create the shortest and most economical sea access route for southwestern China, shortening cargo shipping distances by 560 kilometers and reducing shipping time by 7 to 15 days. After officially commencing operations in September, the Pinglu Canal will fully implement electric vessel traffic management. The first batch of trial electric vessels will be equipped with CATL's marine power battery systems. In addition, CATL will jointly operate a "battery bank" battery leasing service with Pinglu Canal Group to effectively reduce vessel ownership and operating costs for shipowners. In addition to promoting vessel electrification, the two parties plan to build wind and solar power stations, energy storage stations and microgrids along the canal to supply electricity to industrial parks, ports, shipping operations and battery charging and swapping facilities. Meanwhile, the two parties will jointly establish an intelligent zero-carbon management system to quantitatively monitor carbon reduction performance for vessels, industrial parks, power stations and grids.(jl/u)(HK stocks quote is delayed for at least 15 mins.Short Selling Data as at 2026-07-31 16:25.) ### Related Stocks - [03750.HK](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/03750.HK.md) - [300750.CN](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/300750.CN.md) - [HCCD.SG](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/HCCD.SG.md) ## Related News & Research - [15 Chinese Carmakers Make Less Than Half of Battery Giant CATL’s First-Half Profit as Earnings Shift Upstream](https://longbridge.com/en/news/298212461.md) - [Why are EV battery makers’ profits nearly double that of industry’s carmakers?](https://longbridge.com/en/news/298191625.md) - [CATL Forges Strategic Co-op Deal with TAIJIN NEW ENERG and Others](https://longbridge.com/en/news/298254248.md) - [Global EV battery market share in January-July 2026: CATL 39.9%, BYD 14.7%](https://longbridge.com/en/news/298177207.md) - [Is Schaeffler (XTRA:SHA0) Undervalued Following Its CATL Battery Systems Alliance?](https://longbridge.com/en/news/297408519.md) --- > **Disclaimer: This article is for reference only and does not constitute any investment advice.**
