# Dongfang Electric surges 10% as gas turbine, nuclear themes gain

Dongfang Electric (1072.HK) surged **10.22%** in Hong Kong trading to **HK$23.72**. The stock was lifted by strength in the gas turbine theme on the A-share market, where the company's Shanghai-listed shares also advanced, driving the H-share rally. Separately, nuclear power stocks rallied across the board after China approved eight new nuclear power units. Dongfang Electric, a key power generation equipment supplier, is expected to benefit from rising nuclear equipment demand.
