# Morgan Stanley: Maintains "Overweight" rating on Xiaomi Corporation-W, expects average smartphone selling price to hit a record high in the second quarter

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Morgan Stanley released a research report stating that Xiaomi Corporation-W (01810) will announce its second-quarter results for this year on August 18. Currently, it is expected that smartphone shipments and gross margin performance will be strong, with the group's quarterly total revenue expected to exceed RMB 100 billion, and recurring net profit is estimated to reach approximately RMB 6 billion. Morgan Stanley maintains an "Overweight" rating on Xiaomi and a target price of HKD 32. The report indicates that according to the latest data from Omdia, Xiaomi's smartphone shipments in the second quarter reached 31.2 million units, which is 15% higher than the bank's expectations. Benefiting from the average selling price of products reaching a historical high and resilient shipment volumes, the bank expects the smartphone gross margin to maintain above 8% in the second quarter, mainly reflecting the pass-through effect of rising costs
