# Amazon Stock (AMZN) Hits $3 Trillion Market Cap as 'AWS Growth Begins to Justify CapEx Bet'

Shares in e-commerce and cloud giant Amazon (AMZN) jumped by more than 5% on Monday morning to reach a market capitalization of $3 trillion for the first time. The milestone came as analysts issued a flurry of Buy ratings in response to the company's Q2 2026 earnings beat last Thursday. Philip Capital analyst Helena Wang noted that "Amazon Web Services (AWS) growth \[has begun\] to justify \[its\] capital expenditure bet."

## **Amazon Stock Rallies as AI Fuels Cloud Business Growth**

Amazon's shares have jumped by roughly 24% since the start of the year. On Friday, the stock rallied by 15.32% after Amazon posted stronger-than-expected results. 

Notably, its cloud business grew to $42.2 billion in sales. This marked a 37% increase from a year ago and the strongest growth in more than four years.
