Shrenik Kothari has given his Hold rating due to a combination of factors tied to Fortinet’s current fundamentals and outlook. While the company’s remaining performance obligations grew solidly and service revenues such as security subscriptions and technical support showed healthy double-digit expansion, a significant build-up in inventory purchase commitments and related liabilities introduces execution and balance-sheet risk.

At the same time, Fortinet’s product gross margin faces pressure from persistently elevated hardware component and memory costs, with management signaling potential margin compression for 2026 despite recent pricing actions. Taken together, these dynamics support a cautious stance in which upside appears limited relative to the risks, leading Kothari to maintain an unchanged price target of $165 and a Hold recommendation on FTNT.

According to TipRanks, Kothari is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 22.3% and a 68.00% success rate. Kothari covers the Technology sector, focusing on stocks such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cloudflare.

In another report released on July 31, Susquehanna also maintained a Hold rating on the stock with a $160.00 price target.
