Kingboard Holdings (148.HK) rose 2.9% in Hong Kong trading to HK$42.44. The company had previously forecast that interim net profit will exceed HK$2.7 billion, up roughly 4% year-over-year, driven by a more than 200% surge in profit from its copper-clad laminate segment, partially offset by losses from its investment business.
Expectations of a worsening supply shortage in copper-clad laminate and upstream materials boosted the stock.
