Elon Musk's Comments Lift Sentiment Micron (MU) climbed nearly 3% on Wednesday after Elon Musk highlighted strong AI-driven demand for memory during SpaceX's (SPCX) earnings call. Investor sentiment also improved after a bullish analyst note pointed to tight supply across the memory market. According to Musk, memory production is increasing by about 20% a year, while AI-driven demand is rising by more than 200%. He said the imbalance is likely to keep the memory market tight as companies continue investing heavily in AI infrastructure. Those comments reinforced the long-term outlook for Micron, one of the leading suppliers of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI servers. ## **Bullish Memory Outlook Adds to Optimism** Lynx Equity also expressed confidence in the memory market ahead of SanDisk's (SNDK) earnings later today. The firm said roughly $40 billion in additional hyperscaler capital spending during the second half of 2026 is expected to flow largely to memory and flash suppliers. It also believes tight supply and strong AI demand should keep pricing firm through 2027. Lynx reiterated its $2,450 price target on SanDisk and said investors should "load the truck up" at current levels. While the note focused on SanDisk, the firm's outlook points to continued strength across the broader memory industry. ## **Another Analyst Sees More Upside** Wall Street also remains optimistic about Micron's longer-term outlook. Earlier this week, ThinkEquity analyst Ashok Kumar reiterated his Buy rating on Micron and raised his price target to $900 from $60. Kumar believes demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and long-term supply agreements will keep Micron's earnings above normal levels through fiscal 2027. He added that HBM uses more than three times the wafer capacity required for DDR5 memory. That means supply could take years to catch up, even as new chip plants come online. ## **Is MU Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?** Currently, Wall Street has a Strong Buy consensus rating on Micron stock based on 29 Buys and one Hold.
