# Shein to Start Testing Investor Appetite for Hong Kong IPO as Soon as This Week

## **Shein Begins IPO Marketing Push to Investors**

According to *Reuters*, citing people familiar with the matter, Shein could hold another round of premarketing meetings with prospective investors on Thursday, August 6. The discussions are expected to help the firm understand investors' views before officially launching its Hong Kong IPO.

Meanwhile, sources say Shein has already met investors in New York, Boston and San Francisco over the past week. They also disclosed that the firm could raise between $2 billion and $3 billion from the listing, which could take place later this month. However, the fundraising target and launch timeline could still change based on feedback from the investor meetings.

## **Shein Lowers IPO Valuation Amid Slowing Growth**

Shein's latest IPO effort comes after years of delays and a sharp drop in its valuation. Sources say the firm is now targeting a lower valuation of about $30 billion to $40 billion. That would mark a steep drop from its $66 billion valuation in a 2023 funding round and its peak of $98.2 billion in 2022.

The lower valuation comes as Shein faces slower revenue growth and weaker profitability, according to its preliminary Hong Kong listing file. The retailer cited rising U.S. tariffs and higher operating costs as reasons for the added pressure to its business.

At the same time, the fast fashion giant is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and could face hefty fines if regulators find legal faults tied to its U.S. business.

## **Can I Invest in Shein Stock?**

Shein is still a privately held firm, meaning it does not yet have a publicly traded stock. However, the retailer has confidentially filed for a Hong Kong IPO and could go public as soon as August 2026. To stay updated on Shein's pre-IPO plans, visit the TipRanks Private Company Center.
