# GigaDevice Semiconductor falls 5% as chip stocks slide on US export fears

GigaDevice Semiconductor (3986.HK) fell **4.9%** in Hong Kong trading to **HK$462**, tracking weakness in the broader semiconductor sector. The Hang Seng Index slipped nearly 1%, while the Hang Seng Tech Index also declined about 1%. Other chip stocks followed suit, with Hua Hong Semiconductor falling more than 3% and Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMIC) dropping over 2%.

Reports emerged that the US plans to ban imports of components used in Chinese-made data centers, renewing concerns about further escalation of semiconductor export controls. The CPO segment on the A-share market also saw a pullback. Leading Chinese chipmakers responded that the US Federal Communications Commission has not yet issued such restrictions, adding that order books remain full and production is running normally.
