# Report: Trump Repeatedly Calls Fed Chair Kevin Warsh for Views on Econ Impact of Iran War and AI Development

Since Kevin Warsh became Federal Reserve Chair, US President Donald Trump has spoken with him by phone multiple times to seek his views on a range of issues, including the Iran war and the impact of rapid AI development on the economy, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported. It remains unclear whether the two have discussed monetary policy.

Sources said the two have never discussed interest rates since Warsh won Senate confirmation as Fed Chair. Separately, Warsh has frequently expressed optimism about the economy during conversations with Trump.

A White House spokesperson said Trump believes the Fed should maintain its independence and has repeatedly emphasized that Warsh should be given sufficient room to rebuild public confidence in the Fed's decision-making capability.
