WEY CEO Debunks Rumors of "Lanshan Discontinuation"

On August 5, Zhao Yongpo, CEO of WEY, responded to recent rumors regarding the discontinuation of the Lanshan model, clearly stating that the vehicle has not been discontinued and there are no plans to do so.

Zhao Yongpo stated that the Lanshan has been chosen by over 100,000 users, and new products will be launched in the fourth quarter. The official Great Wall Motor website currently continues to display the product page for the new Lanshan Intelligent Advanced Edition.

The WEY Lanshan DHT-PHEV was launched in April 2023, positioned as a mid-to-large six-seater SUV, with an initial price range of RMB 273,800 to RMB 308,800.

Since entering the market, the Lanshan has primarily targeted the large six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV segment, competing in a similar range to models such as the Li Auto L8 and AITO M7.

In terms of sales volume, the Lanshan has experienced significant fluctuations over the past year.

Third-party sales data shows that the Lanshan's monthly sales reached 7,963 units in December 2024, and cumulative deliveries surpassed 100,000 units by July 2025. Subsequently, monthly sales declined, falling to 1,816 units in December 2025.

Entering 2026, the Lanshan's monthly sales continued to fluctuate, rebounding to 1,265 units in April and dropping to 292 units in June. While the decline in sales is a fact, WEY has clearly stated this time that the Lanshan will still receive product updates in the fourth quarter.

In December 2025, WEY launched the Lanshan Intelligent Advanced Edition. This vehicle is Great Wall Motor's first large six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with the VLA large language model, featuring standard all-wheel drive across all trims. It was released in three configurations, with an official guidance price ranging from RMB 299,800 to RMB 326,800.

Meanwhile, WEY is expanding its SUV product lineup.

In April, the V9X, built on the Guiyuan S platform, opened for pre-sale and was officially launched on May 18, with a starting price of RMB 349,800. In late July, bookings opened for the WEY V8X, a large five-seater SUV based on the same platform.

With the launch of the V8X and V9X, WEY's product coverage in the large five-seater and large six-seater SUV markets has become more comprehensive, and the Lanshan will differentiate itself from the new models through its fourth-quarter update.

From the perspective of overall brand performance, WEY's sales volume in July 2026 was 7,725 units, representing a month-on-month increase of 7.43%, continuing the recovery from the previous month.

Zhao Yongpo also stated that the Lanshan is "selling well in overseas markets, while product updates and iterations are also underway in the domestic market."
