# Bridgepoint To Offload $1.1 Billion in Private Credit Stakes as Funds Seek Exit Routes

British private investment firm **Bridgepoint Group** is exploring a potential secondary-market transaction to sell more than $1.15 billion in private credit stakes.

While the deal remains under consideration and has not yet been finalized, the transaction would involve investors acquiring new positions in a continuation vehicle, a fund structure that pools existing loans and provides liquidity for investors seeking to exit, Bloomberg reported.

Continuation vehicles and secondary transactions have gained traction in recent months as tougher exit conditions push investors to seek alternative liquidity options.

Evercore data cited manager-led secondary deals at $106 billion last year, up from $70 billion in 2024, with credit’s share rising to 11% from 5% in 2024.

Last month, it was announced that **Ares Management** (NYSE:ARES) was moving to sell $3.4 billion of bundled interests in a flagship European direct-lending fund, potentially making it one of the largest private credit sales on record. The company was holding discussions with credit-secondaries investors to arrange a sale of limited partner stakes in the fourth vintage of Ares Capital Europe.

In June, **GIC Pte** tapped investment banking firm **Evercore Inc.** to advise on a potential divestment of private credit fund assets. Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund has been allocating to private credit for years and is now considering selling a portion of those positions as they mature.

Other recent GP-led secondaries deals include **Pantheon Ventures,** which led a $3.2 billion private credit continuation vehicle for **Crescent Capital.**

Last year, **Benefit Street Partners** closed its $2.3 billion private credit continuation vehicle, led by **Coller Capital.**
