The aerospace stock built on Thursday’s gains. Traders responded to stronger-than-expected sales alongside expanding space research contracts. The Nasdaq is up 0.78% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.41%, even as the Industrials sector is essentially flat, down 0.04%. ## SpaceMD Secures SpaceX Mission Contract On Thursday, Redwire subsidiary **SpaceMD** announced a contract for **SpaceX’s** Starfall spacecraft. EPS missed estimates with a loss of 19 cents. “With new record highs for both revenue of $117.1 million and gross margin of 27.8%, Redwire’s second quarter of 2026 was defined by successful execution,” said **Peter Cannito**, chairman, CEO and president of Redwire. ## Critical Technical Levels for RDW Stock From a trend perspective, RDW is trading 37% above its 20-day SMA ($9.43) and 28% above its 200-day SMA ($10.09), which keeps the bigger-picture bias pointed higher. It’s also 1.6% above the 50-day SMA ($12.71), a key "line in the sand" that often decides whether a move is a real trend continuation or just a short-lived pop. The mixed part of the setup is in the shorter-term averages: the 20-day SMA is still below the 50-day SMA (a bearish crossover), suggesting the stock is trying to re-accelerate after a prior cooldown.
