# Covenant Logistics Updates Executive Severance and Retirement Terms

The latest update is out from Covenant Logistics Group ( (CVLG) ).

On August 7, 2026, Covenant Logistics Group’s Compensation Committee amended severance agreements for senior executives M. Paul Bunn, James “Tripp” Grant, Dustin Koehl, and Joey Ballard to add benefits tied to retirement or voluntary separation. Under the new terms, executives who give at least 18 months’ prior written notice and comply with employment, release, and a 12‑month post‑separation non‑compete will receive six months of salary continuation and six months of COBRA reimbursement.

Before these amendments, the executives’ severance agreements did not provide any benefits upon retirement or voluntary separation, limiting payouts to qualifying change‑in‑control or severance events. The change modernizes the company’s executive compensation framework, potentially smoothing leadership transitions and offering more predictable retirement planning for key managers without altering existing protections in change‑in‑control scenarios.

The most recent analyst rating on (CVLG) stock is a Buy
 with a $43.00 price target.

CVLG scores below average primarily due to sharply weakened profitability and returns, alongside bearish technical momentum and an unfavorable P/E.
