Our IPO Index is back above +20% for the year, now that July’s AI sell-off has reversed. Biotech IPOs continued their winning streak, with four new listings from clinical-stage drug developers. Braveheart Bio (Nasdaq: BRVE), which targets cardiovascular disease, completed the week's largest IPO and popped +65.6%, boasting strong Phase 2 data and a cornerstone investment from Fidelity. The week's other biotech deals (ATTO, LTGO, BLSM) were more modest, but none finished negative. SpaceX had the most talked-about IPO lock-up release of all time, after its first public earnings announcement. The stock finished the week up +23%, nearly back to the offer price. Improved AI sentiment helped, but as Avery and Matt mentioned on the previous W&L podcast, lower-than-expected insider selling after a lock-up release can be a buy signal. **The Big Picture:** Biotech and AI infrastructure will continue to be major themes in the fall. And if SpaceX continues this rally, that raises the odds of a mega-IPO from Anthropic or OpenAI. For now, it’s “last call” for the 2026 summer IPO market. A typical IPO calendar would give companies one more week to launch their offerings before the annual August lull. **The Week Ahead:** China-based Londian Wason New Energy Tech (NYSE: FOIL) is raising $75 million in a deal led by Cantor. The company produces copper foils used in batteries. We don't count closed-end funds in our IPO stats, but Robinhood Ventures Fund II (NYSE: RVII) aims to raise $200 million, with a portfolio of dozens of smaller private tech companies. **Index Movers:** The IPO Index’s winner and loser this week were both AI-powered diagnostics companies. Downtrodden **Caris Life Sciences (CAI)** jumped +45.1% on a beat-and-raise quarter. **BillionToOne (BLLN)** slid -32.6% after the much-hyped company put up a decent quarter but merely reiterated 2026 guidance.
