# M Stanley Cuts LAOPU GOLD  TP But Sees Initial Signs of Improvement; Share Price Once Surges Over 10%

Morgan Stanley issued a research report saying that LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) +26.600 (+7.557%) Short selling $104.92M; Ratio 22.522% 's 2Q results were affected by the decline in gold prices and came in below expectations. The broker lowered its revenue and EPS forecasts for the company this year by 14%, and cut its forecasts for 2027-28 by 11-12%. Its TP was reduced from HKD590 to HKD505, while the Overweight rating was maintained.

However, M Stanley said gold prices stabilized in 3Q and initial signs of improvement have emerged. Some LAOPU GOLD stores saw queues reappear in early August.

LAOPU GOLD opened 3.98% higher today and once peaked at HKD394.2. It is now trading at HKD383.4, up 8.92%, with trading volume of 2.0318 million shares, involving HKD776 million in turnover.(sl/u)(HK stocks quote is delayed for at least 15 mins.Short Selling Data as at 2026-08-07 16:25.)
