# KLA’s $2 Billion Interest Rate Swaps Add Exposure to Rising SOFR and Counterparty Risk

Kla Corporation’s use of interest rate swaps to convert $2.00 billion of its 2022 Senior Notes from fixed to floating exposes it to upward movements in the Daily Secured Overnight Financing Rate. Higher rates would increase interest expense on the swapped portion, potentially pressuring margins, cash flows, and overall earnings.

These hedges may not fully achieve their objective of managing fair value exposure, leaving Kla subject to residual interest rate risk and valuation volatility.
