International gold prices rose 1.1% on Monday, while spot silver gained 3.2%

On Monday (August 10, the day after the release of the U.S. non-farm payrolls report), spot gold rose 1.10% at the close of New York trading, settling at $4,389.38 per ounce. The overall trend displayed a long-tail W-shape, with prices continuing to climb since 22:00 Beijing time.

COMEX gold futures rose 1.10% to $4,448.20 per ounce, approaching the June 17 peak of $4,465.90 and the June 4 peak of $4,607.40.

Spot silver rose 3.20% to $65.7089 per ounce.

COMEX silver futures gained 3.80% to $65.910 per ounce.

COMEX copper futures rose 0.68% to $6.6360 per pound.

Spot platinum increased by 0.32%, and spot palladium rose by 0.33%.

The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index, traded during U.S. stock market hours, closed up 0.64% at 370.93 points.

The NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index, which trades throughout the global market day, rose 1.03% to 2,596.84 points. It remained roughly stable around the 2,580-point level before the U.S. market open, followed by a sharp V-shaped reversal that continued to expand its gains.

The Raw Materials Index, traded during U.S. stock market hours, closed up 1.12%, while the Metals & Mining Index rose 0.76%.
