# Report Says Amkor Technology, Inc.  Considers Selling Stake in China Business at Up to USD1.5B Valuation

According to foreign media reports citing sources, semiconductor packaging service provider Amkor Technology, Inc. (AMKR.US) is considering selling part of the equity in its China business. The company is currently working with advisers to explore a business spin-off and assess preliminary investor interest.

Sources said Amkor may retain a minority stake in the business, while the overall valuation of the China operations could range from USD1 billion to USD1.5 billion. Amkor currently operates production bases in Shanghai and Jiangsu in China. The report estimated that the potential divestment may reflect the group's strategic adjustment in response to geopolitical factors and supply chain restructuring.
