# S Korea Ministry of Trade: JD-SW to Directly Procure S Korean Products for Sale in CN

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said JD-SW (09618.HK) -3.200 (-2.530%) Short selling $156.00M; Ratio 14.473% has established a business entity in South Korea to directly procure South Korean consumer products for sale in China.

The government will provide comprehensive support for South Korean companies seeking to dabble into the China market through major e-commerce platforms such as JD.com.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, together with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and JD.com, held a briefing session for about 200 South Korean consumer goods companies. Some South Korean companies signed contracts worth about USD1.5 million to ship products to Chinese consumers through JD.com.

A JD.com representative said demand in China for South Korean beauty products and food is expected to grow further amid the popularity of South Korean culture. JD.com plans to increase direct procurement of South Korean consumer products.
