Nvidia's stake is tied to the $2 billion investment in Musk's AI startup xAI, which SpaceX absorbed in early 2026. NVDA invested in 2025 through a special vehicle designed to secure Nvidia chips for xAI's compute buildout.

Meanwhile, Alphabet's stake traces back to its $900 million investment made more than a decade ago. That early bet has turned into one of the most successful venture moves in modern tech. It is worth mentioning that most of Alphabet's shares are still locked up. About $80 billion is under early‑release limits, with another $14.1 billion restricted until late 2027.

Other Major Stakes Revealed Today

Separately, Harvard Management Co. revealed a $2.2 billion stake in SpaceX, showing how the school's endowment has gained from an early bet on Elon Musk's rocket firm. The filing lists SpaceX as Harvard's largest single stock holding, part of the $4.3 billion in U.S. equities it reported. Harvard's endowment stood at $57 billion as of June 2025.

Interestingly, Musk himself revealed a 48.4% ownership stake in SpaceX valued at over $900 billion as of June 2026. Also, Australia's richest person, Gina Rinehart, disclosed a $1.4 billion stake in SPCX stock.

SpaceX stock has jumped 30% so far in August and moved back above its $135 IPO price despite fears around its first big share unlock. Even with more share unlocks coming through December 2026, strong institutional demand and a major short squeeze are likely to offset dilution worries.

What Is SPCX's Stock Price Target?

Turning to Wall Street, SPCX stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 24 Buys, five Holds, and two Sells assigned since its IPO. The average price target for SpaceX is $232.35, implying an upside of 65.96% from the current price.
