Jason McCarthy has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, including MediciNova’s solid cash position and multiple upcoming clinical readouts that could materially change the company’s outlook. With over $25M in cash providing runway into the second half of 2027, the company is positioned to reach several value‑defining data milestones in ALS and metabolic disease without near‑term financing pressure.

He highlights MN‑166 as a major catalyst, with Phase 2b/3 COMBAT‑ALS topline results expected by year‑end 2026 and supportive real‑world data from the NIH‑backed SEANOBI program to follow in early 2027, all underpinned by prior signals of functional benefit and regulatory designations. In parallel, MN‑001’s Phase 2 study in metabolic disease is set to deliver data in 3Q26, backed by earlier evidence of triglyceride reduction and an established safety profile, which together support potential upside to MNOV shares; accordingly, McCarthy reiterates a Buy rating and maintains his $6 price target.

In another report released yesterday, H.C. Wainwright also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $10.00 price target.
