# Earnings Divergence: Nine Dragons and Sanjiang Surge as GOME Struggles with Debt Pile

The 2026 interim reporting season is revealing a sharp dichotomy across Hong Kong equities, characterized by triple-digit profit surges in manufacturing contrasting with mounting debt piles in the retail and real estate sectors.

Industrial and fintech plays are delivering outsized growth metrics. Nine Dragons Paper (2677.HK) reported a massive 225.1% jump in net profit to roughly RMB 2.2 billion for its fiscal first half, driven by an 11.2% revenue increase and expanding margins. Similarly, China Sanjiang Fine Chemicals (2198.HK) recently outperformed the sector following a profit alert projecting a 100% to 130% surge in first-half earnings. On the tech front, JF Wealth Holdings (9609.HK) saw its first-half revenue skyrocket 133.8% to RMB 2.1 billion, fueled by AI product adoption that pushed the firm back into profitability.

Conversely, heavily leveraged entities remain under severe pressure. GOME Retail (0493.HK) faces approximately RMB 16.2 billion in overdue debt as of late July, forecasting a 30% to 50% revenue slide for the first half of 2026 despite narrowing net losses. In the property space, Ronshine China (2569.HK) reported a 38% year-over-year drop in first-half sales, forcing the developer to extend two project loans to 2031 to manage its tight liquidity. Crown International Corporation (3301.HK) also highlighted ongoing distress, reporting an annual net loss of HKD 70.5 million amidst a corporate rebranding effort.

Meanwhile, liquidity events continue to thin out the market's lower tier. Jiutai Rural Commercial Bank (0936.HK) was officially taken private and delisted following significant earnings deterioration. Other thinly traded names, including China East Education (1912.HK), Central Holding (0727.HK), and Wealthy Way Group (1443.HK), maintain a muted market presence with limited operational updates crossing the wire.
