American Airlines announced plans to install 4K seatback screens, Bluetooth audio, and USB-C charging across all cabins by the early 2030s, including retrofits. The airline is also adding more first-class and extra-legroom seats on new aircraft like the A321neo and 737 Max 10. These upgrades aim to close a significant profit gap with rivals Delta and United, as American reported $71 million in Q2 profits compared to their billions.

American is trying to add more premium seating and passenger perks after falling behind rivals Delta and United.
