# What's Behind the Super Micro Computer Stock Pullback Tuesday?

**Super Micro Computer Inc** (NASDAQ:SMCI) shares are trading lower on Tuesday as traders fade a recent run-up and reassess the company’s latest quarterly commentary.

The stock is trading lower amid broader market weakness following news that President **Donald Trump** ruled out extending the 60-day interim peace deal and ceasefire framework with Iran.

The expiration of the 60-day deadline under the June memorandum, without an extension, has reignited geopolitical tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and sparked a jump in oil prices, putting pressure on equities across the broader market.

## What’s Driving Super Micro’s Recent Pullback?

Tuesday’s pullback follows a nearly 60% surge over the past month, with investors weighing mixed fiscal fourth-quarter results against management’s view that demand is intact but deliveries were delayed by data-center readiness constraints (power provisioning, liquid cooling setup and networking).

Super Micro last week posted adjusted EPS of $1.70 versus a 62-cent Street view, while revenue of $11.12 billion missed the $12.33 billion estimate.

Management also pointed to a record backlog tied to more than $60 billion in new fourth-quarter orders, alongside a fiscal 2027 revenue target of $65 billion to $72 billion and a fiscal first-quarter revenue guide of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.

Profitability is also part of the bull case after adjusted gross margin surged to 17.6% versus prior guidance of 8.2% to 8.4%.

## Critical Support and Resistance Levels for SMCI

From a longer-term trend view, the stock is still working back from a weak 12-month stretch (down 18.73%), but the intermediate setup has improved as price holds above its major moving averages (about 16.8% above the 20-day SMA and about 17.7% above the 200-day SMA).

The catch is the bigger-picture "death cross" (50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA) that formed in December 2025, which can keep rallies more headline-sensitive until the longer averages fully repair.

Momentum looks better than it did during the prior downswing: MACD is above its signal line and the histogram is positive, which typically reads as downside pressure easing and buyers gaining traction.

In plain English, MACD compares faster and slower trend signals—when it’s above the signal line, momentum is improving versus that baseline even if price still chops around.

- **Key Support**: $31.00 — a nearby level where buyers previously stepped in, and it sits close to the cluster of longer moving averages in the low-$30s

## Super Micro Computer Benzinga Edge Scorecard Analysis

Below is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Super Micro Computer, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

- **Momentum**: Neutral (Score: 57.65) — The stock’s trend is improving, but it’s not flashing a clear "leader" signal versus the broader market.
- **Quality**: Bullish (Score: 91.19) — The scorecard is signaling strong underlying business/financial quality versus peers.
- **Value**: Bullish (Score: 90/100) — Valuation screens as attractive on this model, aligning with the relatively low 11.7x P/E context provided.
- **Growth**: Bullish (Score: 79.84) — Growth factors remain supportive, which fits the company’s AI/data-center demand narrative.

**The Verdict:** Super Micro Computer’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a quality-and-value-tilted profile with solid growth support, while momentum sits in the middle of the pack. For longer-term traders, that mix often favors "buying pullbacks into support" over chasing strength—especially while the broader Technology sector is the weakest group today.
