# Biren tumbles 8% in Hong Kong on Wall Street chip-sector drag

Biren Technology (6082.HK) tumbled **8%** in Hong Kong trading to HK$**34.32**, dragged by a sector-wide selloff in semiconductor stocks after Wall Street chip names fell overnight. SMIC lost **3.1%**, Hua Hong Semiconductor dipped **2.9%**, while Tianshu Zhixin and Moore Threads each shed more than **2%**.

The pullback came despite a positive earnings preview: Biren guided for first-half 2026 revenue of RMB **1.15 billion–1.3 billion**, up roughly **18.5x–21x** year-on-year, with losses narrowing **75%–80%**, though the company remains unprofitable. A CICC research note flagged Biren as a potential inclusion in the Hang Seng Tech Index rebalance. The board will meet on **Aug. 28** to approve interim results and any dividend. Morgan Stanley trimmed its H-share stake to **4.95%** on Aug. 11.
