# Trending | RIOT Plummets 5% on Tuesday, Some Put options Soar 166%

On August 18, Eastern Time, Riot Platforms options saw a total of 71068 contracts traded, with calls accounting for 78% and puts making up 21%.

Riot Platforms has 921820 contracts outstanding, with calls accounting for 65% and puts making up 34%.

The top volume gainer was the 22 dollars Call option expiring on August 21, 2026, with 11127 contracts traded.

On the news front, RIOT fell 5% to $18.91 on Tuesday following a $20.04 close on Monday, with volume surpassing 16.5 million shares. The sharp pullback triggered heavy derivatives trading, pushing select put options up 166% as market participants adjusted positions.
