At midday, it concluded at 25,533 pts, up 62 pts or 0.24%, with half-day turnover of about HKD129.251 billion. The HSCEI ended at 8,505 pts, up 52 pts or 0.62%. The HSTECH closed at 4,700 pts, down 38 pts or 0.82%. Among major techs, XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) +1.820 (+6.952%) Short selling $1.16B; Ratio 18.896% led the pack, soaring nearly 7% by midday after Nomura said its 2Q26 revenue and net profit slightly beat. Baidu, Inc. (BIDU.US) slumped more than 12% after the company reported a 68% decline in 2Q profit and multiple brokers cut their TP. Its Hong Kong-listed shares BIDU-SW (09888.HK) -11.900 (-11.771%) Short selling $372.55M; Ratio 20.671% plunged 11.77% by midday, making it the worst-performing blue chip. TENCENT (00700.HK) +4.800 (+1.085%) Short selling $697.50M; Ratio 17.210% reversed losses after opening lower and rose 1.08%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) -0.860 (-2.184%) Short selling $446.31M; Ratio 39.675% and BABA-W (09988.HK) -1.200 (-0.947%) Short selling $860.41M; Ratio 17.938% came under pressure ahead of their earnings releases today, sagging 2.18% and 0.95% respectively.
