Ganfeng Lithium (1772.HK) surged 8% in Hong Kong trading to HK$40.38, as lithium-mining stocks broadly rebounded during the session.
BlackRock raised its long position in Ganfeng's H-shares to 7.73% from 6.84% as of Aug. 17, signaling renewed institutional interest in the lithium sector.
The company has previously guided that lithium product supply growth will remain relatively slow through 2026-2027 while maintaining an optimistic demand outlook. Ganfeng is also seeking designated-delivery-warehouse qualification for lithium hydroxide on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange and recently established a new Guangdong-based energy-technology subsidiary to expand its business footprint.
