Chicago-based ComEd has successfully restored power to over 410,000 customers in northern Illinois after severe weather hit the region. In a show of solidarity, ComEd is sending over 60 staff members to northwest Indiana to assist NIPSCO in restoring power for their customers. Initially, more than 374,000 NIPSCO customers were affected by the storms, leaving over 30,000 still without electricity. The deployment of ComEd employees to Indiana began on August 22 and is expected to continue until the restoration process is complete.
