To that end, Ford has readied the Louisville Assembly Plant, a three-million-square-foot facility, to run under the Universal EV Production System. Despite this new readiness, Ford investors did not like what they have seen so far. Ford shares slid nearly 3.5% in Monday afternoon's trading. Prototype builds of Fathom pickups will start in the first quarter of 2027, and customer-ready versions will follow that same year. The Universal EV Production System simplifies manufacturing by building a set of sub-assemblies that can be rapidly put together into a larger whole. The effort will call for another 4,000 jobs in Louisville and in BlueOval Battery Park Michigan. ## **A Cheap Rally Car?** Meanwhile, Ford continues its pursuit of the "no boring cars" philosophy by putting a little extra into its rally car operations. Ford has a very solid motorsports program right now, reports from *Motor1* suggest, but Ford also has an interest in "…democratiz(ing) the rally car." Ford has an interest in making an affordable rally car, but no one is quite sure whether that is for everybody, or just for the European market. Either way, augmenting its motorsports portfolio should help ensure it stays on top, even if motorsports is a bit of a niche market, especially when compared to the passenger car market. ## **Is Ford Stock a Good Buy Right Now?** Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on F stock based on seven Buys, seven Holds and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below.
