ByteDance Joins the Enterprise Office Agent Race: Launches "Doubao Work"

Doubao has officially launched its agent product and brand for productivity scenarios—Doubao Work. Users can access the service through the standalone Doubao Work desktop application, the Doubao desktop client, and other entry points. A 30-day free subscription benefit is included with login or updates.

It is understood that Doubao Work supports the generation and editing of various types of content, including documents, spreadsheets, PPTs, images, videos, web pages, and applications, making it highly competitive among similar products. It also offers AI collaborative editing capabilities with "point-and-edit" precision, allowing users to make targeted modifications and continuously refine content rather than repeatedly regenerating it. This approach not only saves computing resources but also accelerates completion speed.

For more complex tasks, Doubao Work features vision-based browser and computer operation capabilities. With user authorization, it can perform tasks across different software applications, such as processing data with professional software, browsing web pages to collect information, filling out forms, and comparing materials. It also supports remote control of computers via mobile devices and continuous execution on cloud computers.

Unlike typical agent tools, Doubao Work is deeply integrated with Lark (Feishu), giving it a distinct advantage in understanding enterprise work contexts. After logging in with a Lark account, Doubao Work can inherit enterprise knowledge and work context within the scope of permissions, accessing information such as chat records, documents, meeting minutes, and schedules to complete tasks in conjunction with its tools. Relevant content and knowledge can also be saved back to Lark, becoming reusable enterprise knowledge. Furthermore, Lark's features, such as meeting minutes and documents, automatically preserve context as data assets, eliminating the need for manual transfer to AI systems.

Regarding enterprise-level security controls, Doubao Work inherits Lark's existing permission system. Users can only read data and use tools within their authorized scope. It provides comprehensive security protection covering device access, permission settings, quota management, data encryption, and operation auditing. Currently, Doubao Work has become one of the first office agents in China to pass dual certifications for office agent capabilities and cloud-based benchmark tests.
