# SpaceX Stock Price Prediction: Trump Reportedly Bought SpaceX Stake in June, Can SPCX Stock Regain Upward Momentum?

TradingKey - U.S. President Donald Trump's latest financial disclosure shows that he has purchased shares of Elon Musk's SpaceX (SPCX), with the transaction valued at up to $50,000.

According to a financial disclosure signed by Trump on August 12 and made public on August 22, he purchased between $15,001 and $50,000 worth of SpaceX stock on June 23. This trade was among more than 1,000 securities transactions he disclosed for June. Because U.S. federal officials report assets in value ranges, the exact amount Trump invested remains uncertain.

SpaceX completed its IPO on June 12 with a market valuation of approximately $1.77 trillion. Trump's purchase occurred just weeks after the company went public, deepening his financial ties with Musk's firm.

## Trump's Financial Ties With Musk Deepen

The relationship between Trump and Musk has experienced a marked shift from close cooperation to a public fallout. However, with SpaceX's public listing and the ongoing integration of Musk's businesses, the commercial ties between the two have once again drawn market attention.

SpaceX is not only a global leader in commercial space, but also a major U.S. defense contractor. Its business has long involved federal contracts and requires approvals from relevant agencies in areas such as rocket launches and space transportation.

Recently, the Trump administration has further pushed to expand the scale of U.S. commercial space launches and requested relevant agencies to accelerate approvals and supporting infrastructure development. As a major player in the U.S. commercial launch market, SpaceX is poised to benefit from higher launch frequencies, more efficient approval processes, and investments in related infrastructure.

As such, although the amount of SpaceX shares held by Trump is not large, the market remains focused on potential conflicts of interest and governance issues, given that government policy could directly impact the commercial space industry.

However, the White House stated that Trump's investment portfolio is managed by an independent third party, and neither the president nor his family members have the authority to intervene in specific investment decisions or transaction timing.

## SpaceX Stock Technical Analysis: Can SPCX Resume Its Uptrend?

Source: TradingView

On the daily chart, after rebounding from its early August low, SPCX has broken above the downward trendline connecting its previous high of $173 and reclaimed its 20-day moving average at $129.02, indicating that the prior persistent downtrend has eased. However, after surging to around $146, the stock pulled back and recently closed at $135, reflecting that it remains in a short-term consolidation phase following the rebound.

Fibonacci retracements show that $138.82 is the immediate resistance level to break. If the stock can close above this level on heavy volume, it is expected to test $146.91 next; following a further breakout, upside targets include $158.83 and the $172.27 to $173.11 region. Only a move back above $173 would confirm a broader medium-term uptrend, at which point $199.30 could become a new target.

Downside support is initially located near the 20-day moving average, specifically the $129 to $130 area. As long as the stock stays above this level, the short-term rebound structure remains intact; if it closes below $129, it could retest $120.72. If $120.72 is also broken on heavy volume, it would imply that the trendline breakout may have failed, and the stock could reapproach the low of $104.54.
