# ‘A Pelosi-ble Opportunity?’ Why Bloom Energy Stock Is Up Today and What This Investor Sees Next

Looks like Tuesday is shaping up to be a good day for **Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE)** investors. The stock is up in early trading after congressional financial disclosures showed that Nancy Pelosi had taken a sizable stake in the company. The purchase represents the former House Speaker’s first reported transaction involving Bloom Energy and has quickly put the stock back on the radar of both retail and institutional investors.

The disclosures indicate that Pelosi’s household bought 15,000 Class A shares in two transactions on July 24 and July 28, 2026. The position also includes 200 call options with a $100 strike price expiring June 17, 2027, signaling substantial upside exposure.

Pelosi’s purchase will make perfect sense to an investor with the pseudonym of Simple Investment Ideas (SII), who thinks that with its factory-built, modular onsite generation solutions customized for data centers, Bloom is “positioned to address the AI-driven power bottleneck.”

The investor’s bullish thesis centers on a growing constraint facing the AI industry: power availability is becoming just as important as access to computing hardware. Data-center operators can obtain servers much faster than utilities can approve grid connections, expand substations, or build new transmission infrastructure. In this environment, having electricity available immediately can be considerably more valuable than waiting years for additional grid capacity.

SII believes this trend benefits the wider power-infrastructure sector, but sees Bloom as particularly well positioned. Its modular Energy Servers can generate electricity onsite, operate independently of the grid when necessary, and be deployed relatively quickly. The investor also highlights Bloom’s Power Connect system, which moves much of the installation process into a controlled factory environment. This could make deployments faster, more standardized, and more predictable while reducing construction complexity.

Oracle represents another important element of the thesis. Its expanded agreement with Bloom covers up to 2.8 GW, with 1.2 GW already contracted. SII believes the deal provides Bloom with a significant demand anchor as it expands manufacturing capacity, while Oracle’s adoption could also give Bloom a valuable reference customer when pursuing additional hyperscalers. Meanwhile, Brookfield’s expansion of its financing framework with Bloom from $5 billion to $25 billion could help customers fund multiple projects simultaneously, potentially accelerating deployment.

Bloom’s financial results are beginning to demonstrate the potential of this strategy. Revenue jumped 166% year over year in the latest quarter, while gross margins strengthened and operating cash flow turned positive. Management’s 2026 guidance calls for $4.05 billion in revenue and $850 million in non-GAAP operating income, implying substantial operating leverage as production scales.

The investor nevertheless acknowledges that Bloom’s premium valuation already assumes near-flawless execution, with the stock trading at roughly 16x 2026 revenue and 75x forward non-GAAP earnings. Customer concentration, manufacturing delays, capacity expansion, margin pressure, project postponements, and greater competition could all undermine the thesis.

That supports a Buy rating, but not a Strong Buy. For SII, further upside depends on Bloom proving that its recent growth marks the beginning of a sustained, multi-year manufacturing and earnings expansion rather than simply the peak created by a few major orders. That thesis chimes well with the general Street view. Based on a mix of 9 Buys and Holds each, the stock claims a Moderate Buy consensus rating. Shares are expected to appreciate by 26%, considering the average target clocks in at $269. (See BE stock forecast)
