# Laekna Advances Obesity Drug LAE102 With Positive Phase I Data

Laekna, Inc. ( (HK:2105) ) just unveiled an announcement.

Laekna reported significant clinical progress for its obesity drug candidate LAE102 during the six months ended June 30, 2026, highlighting completion of a U.S. Phase I single ascending dose study in collaboration with Eli Lilly. The study in healthy postmenopausal women showed a well-tolerated safety profile and dose-dependent improvements in lean body mass and reductions in fat mass, alongside robust target engagement.

These Phase I results were consistent with an earlier multiple ascending dose study in overweight and obese subjects, which also demonstrated favorable body composition trends and no serious adverse events. Building on these data, Laekna has initiated a six-month Phase I multiple dose expansion study in overweight and obese subjects, with preliminary data expected in the second half of 2026, underscoring its ambitions in the competitive obesity drug market.
