# Micron Reshuffles Its Leadership for the Next Phase of the AI Boom

Micron Technology Inc. (MU, Financials) is shaking up its leadership team in advance of the memory-chip maker's next era of AI-fueled development.

Manish Bhatia was named president and chief operational officer, responsible for worldwide operations, business units, capital investment, manufacturing, customer demand, pricing and delivery.

Scott DeBoer was named president and chief technology and product officer. He will lead Micron's memory and storage roadmap, customer innovation, and Micron Research Labs.

Both are experienced executives. Bhatia joined Micron in 2017 while DeBoer has been with the firm since 1995 and has co-led the development of 15 technology nodes. The adjustments are striking in that demand is not as important as Micron's performance now.

AI servers are fueling greater adoption of sophisticated memory, while capacity planning, pricing discipline and product development are becoming more critical to profitability and market dominance.

Sumit Sadana, former executive vise president and chief business officer, will move into a senior adviser post reporting to CEO Sanjay Mehrotra.

For investors, the change puts two seasoned operators in expanded responsibilities at a time when Micron is struggling to translate AI demand into sustainable profitability growth.
