# Why FingerMotion Stock Is Skyrocketing Today — and What Investors Should Pay Attention To

**FingerMotion (NASDAQ:FNGR)** stock is going absolutely wild on Friday, soaring 185% as of this writing after the small-cap telecom company laid out plans for a significant move into AI infrastructure.

The excitement follows FingerMotion's plan to become an owner-operator of modular AI and high-performance computing data centers in North America. Working with BlueFlare Energy Solutions, the company wants to develop facilities capable of generating electricity at or near each site. That approach could allow customers to bypass lengthy grid-connection queues while gaining access to computing capacity sooner than traditional data-center projects might permit.

There is another piece to the strategy that could prove important over time. Earlier this month, FingerMotion acquired a 9.9% stake in Lyken.AI through the issuance of 1.67 million restricted FNGR shares. Lyken provides outsourced cloud-computing capacity and enterprise services, potentially giving FingerMotion an operating foothold and access to prospective customers as the infrastructure strategy develops. Lyken recently signed a non-binding agreement involving a proposed 128-node Nvidia B300 cluster, although that project remains dependent upon financing and definitive agreements.

That certainly gives investors something new to consider, but a 185% stock-price gain puts far more weight on what happens from here. Management has outlined four milestones investors should watch, including securing development sites, establishing reliable power supplies, signing enterprise customers, and obtaining project-level financing. FingerMotion says several potential locations are being discussed, yet no completed project financing, signed commercial term sheet, or customer offtake agreement has been announced.

FingerMotion does have some financial flexibility as it pursues this strategy, helped by very low leverage and a relatively strong equity position. Management has also been cutting costs and keeping operating expenses in check as revenue has weakened. If that discipline continues, it could preserve capital while FingerMotion works to build out its newer infrastructure operations.

However, the existing telecom operation remains in difficult shape and provides an important counterweight to Friday's enthusiasm. Revenue contraction has been severe and persistent, leaving FingerMotion with less operating leverage while making fixed costs harder to absorb. Minimal gross profit and continuing operating losses show that current operations remain far from self-funding, while negative operating and free cash flow limit available resources for internal investment.

That means FingerMotion's current financial flexibility only goes so far, particularly if its new infrastructure strategy requires substantial outside funding. Secured convertible financing can create dilution and repayment obligations, while the company's Nasdaq deficiency adds exchange-listing uncertainty. Those concerns could become more important if the infrastructure plans require additional capital before they begin providing meaningful returns. (See **FNGR stock analysis**)
