# BUZZ-US energy companies gain after oil prices climb as US, Iran resume attacks

U.S.-listed shares of energy companies rise premarket, mirroring a more than 2% jump in oil prices (O/R)

Oil prices rise after the U.S. attacked an Iranian island in the Strait of Hormuz and drew retaliation from Tehran

Brent crude futures (LCOc1) up 2.4% at $90.19/barrel; U.S. West Texas Intermediate (CLc1) rises 2.3% to $85.30/barrel

Energy majors Exxon (XOM.N) and Chevron (CVX.N) up 1.1% and 1.9%, respectively

Oil and gas producers: Occidental Petroleum (OXY.N) up 1.6% and ConocoPhillips (COP.N) gains 1.2%

Oilfield services companies: SLB (SLB.N) up 1.1% and Halliburton (HAL.N) rises 2.3%

Refiners Marathon Petroleum (MPC.N) up 1.6% and Phillips 66 (PSX.N) rises 1%
