# The Island of Misfit Stocks: Who's Actually Waking Up and Who's Faking It?

I’ve always said that the best way to understand Wall Street isn’t to listen to Big Tech earnings calls, but to dig through the "unclassified" bin of marginalized tickers. This is a collection of furniture sellers, gas drillers, and random ETFs that the algorithms just tossed into a fallback bucket. Everyone is chasing AI, leaving these leftovers for us to sift through. This is stupid and here's why: most of these deserve to be forgotten, but a couple actually matter.

Oscar Health (OSCR.US) is the only one in this group that makes me pause. Outperforming recently, they reported an impressive TTM revenue run reaching **USD 13.3B**, with quarterly revenue up **70.4%**. Mario (Schlosser) has finally proven that health-tech isn't entirely vaporware. But executives selling off shares right after a record first half? Good luck with that.

Wayfair (W.US) has been trading sideways this year, still selling that old "drop-shipping" narrative without holding inventory. When your suppliers can go direct on new global platforms, spending **10%** of your revenue on marketing feels desperate. Niraj (Shah), why aren't you moving faster to change the model?

Then there’s Viasat (VSAT.US), which has seen shares slip recently. Mark (Dankberg) just proudly announced their ViaSat-3 F3 satellite is operating in the Asia-Pacific. In a world where Elon is eating everyone's lunch with Starlink, this heavy-asset, slow-motion rollout feels like 1990s dial-up.

As for the rest? It's like a bad 90s revival. Concrete Pumping Holdings (BBCP.US) is literally pumping concrete, pulling in over **USD 106M** last quarter with choppy price action. AleAnna (ANNA.US) and Goliath Resources (GOLI.US) are spinning classic energy and gold exploration yarns. Goliath claims new high-grade intercepts of **19.51 g/t** gold equivalent, yet the stock is struggling. We all know how cheap those promises usually are.

Alset (AEI.US) and Smart Digital Group (SDM.US) are textbook examples of corporate ADD. Alset does everything from real estate to blockchain with minor price fluctuations, while SDM is pitching digital marketing with stagnant price action. When you try to do everything, you do nothing well.

Finally, if you want ETFs, there's the WisdomTree Europe Defense Fund (WDEF.US) and the growth-focused Alger 35 (ATFV.US), both trending up with the broader market. But does that redeem this grab-bag of leftovers? No. My view is simple: stick to the ones generating actual cash, and stop wasting time on companies that are pretending to be asleep.
