# Object First-Sponsored Omdia Research: 93% of Technology Leaders Say Absolutely Immutable Backup Storage Is Critical for Ransomware Protection, But Only 16% Have It

In Denver, Object First, a ransomware-proof on-premises backup storage company, released a study by Omdia indicating that 83% of organizations experienced a successful ransomware attack in the past 24 months. The study highlighted the challenges of recovery, with only 39% of organizations managing to recover a minimum of 75% of their data post-attack, a decline from 57% in 2024. The findings underscore the growing difficulty in recovering from ransomware incidents and the significant impact of these attacks on organizational downtime.
