# Lam Research Stock Slides: UBS Cut, Insider Sale, Rising Yields Weigh on LRCX

## **UBS Target Trim and Insider Form 4 Disclosure**

Adding near-term pressure to the stock, UBS lowered its price target on Lam Research to $425 from $435 while maintaining a Buy rating on the shares.

The sell-side adjustment coincided with an SEC Form 4 filing revealing that Chief Legal Officer **Ava Harter** sold 5,000 shares of common stock at an average price of $302.46 per share on Aug. 31. The $1.51 million transaction was executed under a pre-arranged Rule 10b5-1 trading plan adopted in April 2026.

## **Yield Surge and Macro Volatility Hit Semiconductor Valuations**

Broader market headwinds further compounded losses across the semiconductor sector. Bond markets surged on Tuesday, pushing the 10-year Treasury yield up to 4.8%, its highest level since January 2025, and the 30-year yield to 5.25%.

The rate spike occurred despite the U.S. Treasury Department’s August move to double its long-dated bond buybacks, as investors continue to digest sticky inflation metrics and an expanding federal deficit, with total U.S. debt exceeding $40 trillion.

Paired with a spike in crude oil prices driven by renewed Middle East geopolitical tensions, escalating discount rates continue to weigh on valuation multiples across capital-intensive growth stocks.

## **LRCX Shares Drop Tuesday Afternoon**

Lam Research shares were down 3.95% at $289.57 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
