Taking to the social media platform X, Farley showed off a camouflaged unit of the pickup truck on the streets of Las Vegas. “The team was out in the desert doing hot weather testing,” before taking a detour to Las Vegas. “Our new midsize electric truck. Coming 2027,” he said.

The camouflage also features a QR code, which would direct you to the vehicle’s landing page on the Ford website. Ford says the Fathom will start at $28,350 before destination and delivery charges, with the standard-range battery. The company added that pre-orders will begin early next year. Earlier, the vehicle was spotted testing in Arizona.
Fathom Undercuts Cybertruck
Notably, the Fathom, with its sub-$30,000 price, significantly undercuts the Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) Cybertruck. Tesla recently hiked the Cybertruck prices in the U.S., with the base trim now availale for $74,990.
Based on the Fathom’s MSRP of $28,350, a Cybertruck is more than $46,000 pricier. Notably, a Tesla Model Y retails for $39,990 for the base trim in the U.S., meaning you could theoretically buy a Fathom and a Tesla Model Y for the price of one Cybertruck.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk had earlier said that the Cybertruck will be getting the automaker’s Actually Smart Summon feature via a future update, saying that the truck could navigate a parking lot and drive itself to the owner using the feature. That feature landed following an update in June.
