According to Jin10, Toyota Motor is considering using hydrogen to power trucks that transport auto parts, as the Iran war has pushed up gasoline prices and tightened supply. Toyota's vice chairman also said using hydrogen in suppliers' logistics networks is another option. Toyota's plan is part of its commitment as a member of the Japan Hydrogen Association (JH2A) to use hydrogen for 1% of all logistics, fuel, and raw material transport. As of last month, 67 companies and institutions had joined the initiative, including banks, trading companies, insurers, and local governments.
