# The Great SaaS Reshuffling: How AI is Rewriting Valuations

The August 2026 earnings season has made one thing abundantly clear: the software and SaaS landscape is undergoing a silent reshuffling. Companies that can translate AI narratives into actual revenue are quickly pulling ahead of the pack.

I'm told that in recent closed-door meetings among industry leaders, the conversation has definitively shifted from basic cloud migration to AI-driven operational efficiency. This matters because it signals a fundamental restructuring of how SaaS companies will be valued moving forward.

Take **Fastly (FSLY.US)**. The edge cloud provider posted record Q2 revenue in early August 2026 and confidently raised its full-year guidance. Executives made it clear they are expanding their security portfolio to capitalize on AI-related demand. While the stock has seen a pullback of over **20%** in the past month, it has still managed to double year-to-date, suggesting a longer-term market repricing of its edge capabilities.

Then there's **HubSpot (HUBS.US)**, which perfectly illustrates how AI directly empowers SMB clients. The platform delivered a massive Q2 2026, with total revenue climbing **20%** year-over-year to **USD 911.7M**, bringing in **USD 43.3M** in net income. Perhaps more tellingly, on August 5, they appointed former Google AI executive Jerry Dischler to the board. Unsurprisingly, the stock has rallied more than **25%** since the earnings release. The market is clearly buying what they are selling.

And yet, as usual, the truth is more complicated than a simple bull case. If you think this is purely an American software phenomenon, think again. Global IT consulting giant **Infosys (INFY.US)** is carving out its own piece of the pie. In its Q1 FY2027 report, the company generated **USD 5.08B** in total revenue, with AI-related business now accounting for **8.2%** of that total. By mid-August, they had inked a strategic enterprise transformation partnership with Knorr-Bremse AG. Despite some recent insider selling and a modest pullback in shares, their operating margin remains resilient at **21.1%**.

Finally, viewing the sector through a cross-market lens brings us to the **Direxion Daily CSI China Internet Index Bull 2X Shares (CWEB.US)**. As a leveraged ETF, its trajectory is deeply intertwined with macro events and regional tech dynamics, notably August 2026 inflation data and new AI model releases. It serves as a stark reminder that liquidity and narrative can severely amplify both returns and downside risks in the broader internet space.

My view is that the back half of 2026 won't be as forgiving for SaaS players resting on their laurels. The market is demanding tangible ROI from AI investments, not just buzzwords. Good luck with that.
